Efo Elegusi


  • 1 Unit Chef Mix Egusi
  • 1.5 litres Beef Stock
  • 200ml Palm Oil
  • 3 Seasoning Cubes
  • 100g Shredded Ugu Leaves
  • 1kg Beef Cubes
  • 200g Cleaned Dry Fish
  • 100g Stock Fish (cleaned and boiled)
  • 500g Mixed Meats, tripe, Brown pomo (cleaned and cooked)
  • Extra Stock


Step 1
  • Season beef cubes and add desired quantity of the dry pepper and crayfish in the Chef Mix Pack
  • Cook without adding water for about 5 minutes, stirring carefully
  • All about 2 litres of stock or water if stock is not available and cook meat until tender
Step 2
  • In a bowl, add palm to the egusi and mix thoroughly, add to cooked meat and stir
  • Reduce heat, cover pot and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • Check seasoning and add more stock if required
Step 3
  • Add shredded ugu, stir and turn off heat after 2 minutes
  • Served with Eba, Poundo or Semovita.
